PROJECTS

North Channel 1 and 2 are located off the east coast of Northern Ireland. North Channel Wind 1 is expected to be in the region of 300MW and North Channel Wind 2 is expected to be in the region of 100MW and will utilize the innovative tension leg platform.

The projects will be located between 10 and 25 km from shore in approximately 120m of water depth. North Channel Wind 1 has a site area of approx. 94km2 while North Channel Wind 2 has a site area of 38km2. It is anticipated that North Channel Wind 1 could accommodate 15-20 turbines depending on the turbines size selected, while North Channel Wind 2 would have 5 to 7 turbines.

The North Channel wind projects are in the earliest stage of development. This gives us the opportunity to consult with local communities and wider stakeholders during the design stage, in order to develop the most suitable and appropriate proposals possible. In this way we are confident that the projects can harness the immense power of offshore wind whilst achieving a balance in terms of marine use, coastlines and seascape.
