North Channel Wind's Fiona, David and Andy spent a fantastic day at W5 Belfast this week delivering interactive offshore wind workshops to over 100 primary school pupils, in partnership with the Sir Thomas Lipton Foundation’s ‘Buoyed Up’ programme.
The programme aims to give children aged 10-12 an unforgettable experience of sailing, enterprise and achievement all connected with the sea.
As well as learning about offshore wind energy the pupils, from Kilcooley PS in Bangor, Castle Gardens PS in Newtownards, Euston Street PS in Belfast and the Longstone School in Dundonald, tried their hands at building and naming their own mini wind turbines. Great work!
